Nursery Opening

Dear Parents,

Burford Nursery Opening September 2018

We are excited to be able to tell you about the new teacher-led school nursery which is going to open on site in September. You have probably seen that the builders are currently in the process of converting the caretaker’s bungalow into a fantastic nursery building. This will be a standalone building from the main school building but will be run by the Burford Early Years Team.

This new teacher led nursery setting will be for rising 4s, i.e. the year before children formally start in reception.  It is open to all children of Marlow and the surrounding areas, in opening a teacher led setting we hope to be able to help children’s development and to help them reach their true potential as they move through the education system.  There was a recent article on the BBC news that underpinned the importance of having qualified teachers in nursery settings:

We are offering 15hr and 30hr funded places to ensure accessibility.

The school nursery will be led by two of the current Reception teachers (Mrs Deane and Miss Hughes) and we feel that their knowledge of the Foundation Stage curriculum and Early Years outcomes will give the children the best possible start to school life. They will offer a rich, play-based curriculum, teaching skills which will really help the children when they begin in Reception.

If you are interested in applying for a place for 2018/19 or if you wish to place your child on a waiting list for subsequent years, then please contact the school office who will be able to provide you with further information.

Yours sincerely

Mr Garner
