Staffing at Burford School

Dear Parents,

In order to maintain open communication with you as parents I have a number of important future staffing matters to inform you about.

Firstly, I am delighted to inform you officially that Mrs Alice Nash, Willow Class Teacher, is pregnant with her second child. She intends to go on maternity leave at the end of this term and I am in the process of recruiting a Teacher to cover her responsibilities whilst she is on Maternity Leave.

Secondly, it is with regret that I must let you know Mrs Jackson, will be temporarily stepping down from her role as SENCO for personal reasons. She will be staying on as Deputy Headteacher working every afternoon for the foreseeable future. I am currently in the process of seconding/recruiting a replacement SENCO but wish to reassure you that, in the meantime, Mrs Jackson remains committed to ensuring all essential SEN work is undertaken as well as supporting the school as Deputy Headteacher. I thank you in advance for your understanding at this difficult time.

Regrettably, I must also inform you that Mrs Hughes (Year 2 Elm Class Teacher) has decided to take early retirement at the end of this academic year. Furthermore, Miss Avery (Early Years Foundation Stage Leader) has decided that she would like to take a step back from full time teaching and explore part time options from September 2018.  I would like to take this early opportunity to thank them for all their hard work at Burford over many years.

As a result of these changes you may see a number of adverts relating to positions at Burford School. We are also considering internal staffing reorganisation so some of the adverts may not directly relate to these positions/year groups.

As soon as the staffing arrangements for next year are in place I will send further information.

Yours sincerely

Mr Ian Garner
