Ufton Court

Dear Parents

As part of our Anglo-Saxon and Viking topic, we have booked to take both classes on a one-night residential trip to Ufton Court near Reading on 12/13th November.  This will involve the children spending two days at Ufton Court where they will take part in a variety of activities led by the staff on site. These will be both physically and educationally stimulating, but with a definite Anglo-Saxon and Viking flavour!

Below are the costings and the total price per child is £114:

Ufton Court – Cost breakdown
Coach per child £10
Cost per child for Ufton Court and activities £104
Total £114

As the visit takes place within school hours, then under the terms of the 2002 Education Reform Act no charge can be made by the school for the activities, however board and lodging is a chargeable cost.  All children will be able to take part in these activities regardless of whether parent(s) have been able to make a contribution. However, if we do not receive a sufficient sum in voluntary contributions the visit will have to be cancelled since we are unable to cover the cost from the school funds.

We will be explaining more about the visit at our Objectives Meeting on Tuesday 17th September. In the meantime, if you would like to read more about Ufton Court, please visit their website at www.uftoncourt.co.uk.

Attached are forms that need to be completed and returned to the class teachers by 27th September.  Please can you send all forms back in one go and ensure that all parts are completed.

If your child will not be taking part in this trip, then please could you either pop in or email us to let us know.

We are looking forward to another exciting step back in time at Ufton Court!

Yours sincerely

Mrs Bull & Mrs Barton
