Y3 Trip – Amersham Field Centre

Dear Parents,

As part of our Science topic about Rocks and Soils Year 3 are visiting the Amersham Field Centre on Wednesday 18th July. Our visit will include a workshop to identify the different rock types and an activity in the woods to learn about different soils and identify similarities and differences between them.

The cost for the trip is £14.00 per child. As the visit takes place within school hours, then under the terms of the 2002 Education Reform Act no charge can be made for school visits. Therefore, we invite you to make a voluntary contribution of £14.00 to cover the cost. Please make payment online by Wednesday 4th July. Payment online is confirmation of parental permission for your child to attend.

All children will be able to take part in the visit regardless of whether their parent(s) have made the contribution. However, if we do not receive a sufficient sum in voluntary contributions the visit will have to be cancelled since we could not cover the cost of the trip from school funds.

We will be returning to school for the usual pick up time of 3.15pm. Please ensure your child has a disposable packed lunch and a drink for the day. Children should be dressed appropriately for outdoor activities and the possibility that they might get muddy if it’s wet.

If you are able to help on the day please let us know, as we will need additional adult helpers.

We look forward to an enjoyable day.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Fowler-Marsh and Mr Farina
