Year R Spring Term 2018

Dear Parents

Home School Partnership Information for Reception

We hope this information will help you and your child have a happy and fulfilling term.

We will be basing our work on the following stories:

  • The Owl and the Pussycat
  • The Little Red Hen
  • The Race (Chinese New Year)
  • The Rainbow Prince
  • Little Lumpty and Easter

Through these stories we will cover all areas of the foundation stage curriculum. Please keep an eye on the weekly notice for more details.

Early reading, writing and number skills play a very important part in the curriculum. Please help and encourage your child by:

  • Sharing books with them
  • Learning high frequency words sent home by the teacher
  • Playing simple dice and board games
  • Counting up to 20 at first, then 50 and then 100 – or even more!

There is no Forest School in the spring term as it is very wet and the wood needs time to recuperate as it is used by 120 children every week during the autumn and summer terms!
