Dear Parents/Friends/Guardians
Staffing
We are pleased to inform you that we have appointed Miss Jessica Harrington to teach Oak Class from January 2008. She has taught a range of Year groups, including Year One, and is currently at Foxes Piece School in Marlow. She has a background in Art & Design and has previously worked in the textile industry.
Mrs Collins will also continue to teach part time in Oak Class after Christmas and will provide continuity for the children. Miss Harrington will be getting married on New Years Eve so will be joining the staff as Mrs O’Sullivan! We look forward to welcoming her to the team.

Music Concert
The choir performed at the Wycombe Swan yesterday, joining together with a number of local schools. It was a wonderful evening and the children, as always, behaved beautifully and were a credit to the school. They looked extremely smart and their singing was superb. This is largely due to the talents of Mrs Chadwick who has worked hard practicing with them. The songs were recorded onto a CD in school, and all the children from Y2 – Y6 were included on this. You will be able to purchase the CD from Monday at the cost of £10, so don’t forget to get your orders in for Christmas!
Book
Fair
The Book Fair proved very successful and we raised £1,427.50. We sold enough books to get £796.50 commission, allowing the school to spend this on sets of good quality reading books to support our reading scheme. Thank you for all your support!

Leaving gifts
If you would like to contribute to a gift for any of the staff leaving at Christmas, please send your contribution in to the school office.

Thank you
Thank you to Mrs Branch for spending many hours sewing up all the new PE bands! They will be put to good use!

Uniform
We are unable to purchase any 28” sweatshirts until early December. As soon as they are in stock we will let you know. Please also could you remember to name all items of uniform. We have so much that is unnamed and it is such a shame when it is new – the lost property bins are constantly very full.

Lost Property
Lost property will now all be kept in one place – in the KS1 cloakrooms. On a Friday, the lost property bin will be placed outside by the stamping shelter. Please feel free to have a look if you have lost any items of clothing!

Chess Club
We are hoping to start a weekly chess club during the lunchtime break. We have plenty of boards and chess sets but we need a keen volunteer to run it1 If anyone is interested please could you let the school office know.

We will be supporting Children in Need again this year and as in previous years, we would like to cover large pictures of Pudsey Bear with loose change. All the classes will have a turn at filling in the outline so if you would like to support this charity, please could you bring in some coppers on Friday 16th November.

Christmas Raffle
You should all have received your tickets by now for our annual Christmas Raffle. The main prize this year is a years’ membership to the Marlow Club! There will be a Massive Christmas Hamper too and we would like each child to donate something towards this if possible. Please send contributions in to the school office. If you are able to offer us any larger prizes, maybe through the company you work for, we would be delighted to hear from you. Raffle tickets are still available and the draw will take place at school on Friday 14th December. We hope to purchase a variety of ICT/AVA equipment such as Coomber listening stations and software to support use of IWB.

Christmas Bazaar
Don’t forget the Christmas Bazaar on Friday 30th November. KS1 will be visiting the bazaar from 10.45 – 11.45 and KS2 from 1.15 – 2.15. Please help us by sending in Tombola prizes, toys, books, games, bric-a-brac, handicrafts, toiletries from Monday 19th November (Please not before as we have no storage space available). Cakes need to be brought in on the morning of 30th November.

Delivered Packed Lunches
Attached to this newsletter is a leaflet outlining a packed lunch option, delivered to schools daily. The company is run by a couple of mums who live in Marlow and all the information is on the leaflet.
