Wish List |
Why we have a Voluntary Contribution Scheme
The vast
majority of our school funding comes from government and this covers the
basics needed for school life.
There are, however, many items that would further enhance the children’s
learning and social development at school that cannot be met from state
funding. The wonderful work
done by Friends of Burford provides for many of these enhancements - the
outdoor play areas, pavilions, white boards, stamping shelters, fans for
classrooms to name but a few.
We believe,
that a voluntary parental contribution scheme would enable the school to
have a regular stream of income that it could use for the items on the “Wish
List”. This may also appeal to
those who are unable to regularly attend FOB events, but would still like to
“give something back” to the school.
The Wish List is just that – a list of additional items that the staff and children would like, to enhance their learning experience. It ranges from everyday items that there can never be enough of, such as art materials, to larger one-off items such as the buddy bench, football goal posts, even a minibus! The current list can be found in the following link:
How you can help
Please remember that the money raised really does make a difference.
Every contribution, no matter how large or small, is valuable and for every
£100.00 that you contribute as a taxpayer, the Government can give an extra
£25.00 in Gift Aid. Up until 5 April 2011, the Government will add extra
transitional relief to this, giving a total extra of £28 for every £100.
