w/c 4th May

This week, we are going to continue our topic about Money. If your child is able to have money in front of them whilst they are working, this will be helpful. If this is not possible, you could encourage your child to draw money to represent the amount.

Monday – Lesson 9

Fluency Starter Activity

Times Tables – Counting Stick

At school, we often use a counting stick to practise our times tables. We can use the counting stick in many different ways, for example, counting forwards and backwards in multiples or looking at the patterns and relationships between the multiples.

For your fluency activity today, we would like you to choose a times table and create your own counting stick for that times table. Once you have created your counting stick, you can practise your chosen times table! Have fun!

Have a look at the counting stick example below and the video of a counting stick being used to learn the 17 times table!
