Year 1 trip to Bekonscot
On Thursday 9th October, Year 1 enjoyed an exciting visit to The Model Village in Beaconsfield. As part of their history topic on Houses and Homes, the children took part in a fascinating workshop where they discovered how people lived when the village was first created.
They learnt about life in the 1930s and explored the differences between a miner’s cottage and a modern house. This hands-on experience brought their classroom learning to life and was a great way to complete the topic.
The day continued with a ride on the village train and a lovely walk around the miniature buildings. To round off the trip, everyone had fun at the play park.
The children shared their highlights at the end of the day—many said they loved the train and exploring the village, but most of all, they just loved everything!
